About Me

My journey as an Orton-Gillingham therapist began twenty-two years ago when my son was diagnosed with dyslexia. I saw firsthand the challenges that students with dyslexia and their parents face. Determined to make a difference, I pursued certification in the Orton-Gillingham Approach, a structured, multisensory approach of teaching reading that is highly effective for individuals with dyslexia. Many years of experience and training has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide highly-effective, individualized, evidence-based instruction. I have the unique perspective of being a parent of a child with dyslexia, a former classroom teacher, as well as an individualized reading specialist.

I believe that every student is unique and deserves a tailored approach to learning. The Orton-Gillingham Approach allows me to design personalized lessons that cater to the specific needs and strengths of each student. By incorporating visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways, I make learning engaging and effective, helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

Over the years, I have worked with students of all ages, from young children just starting their reading journey to adults seeking to improve their literacy skills. My experience spans decades, and I have seen remarkable progress in my students, and I am committed to continuing to support them in their learning journeys.

As an educator, I am committed to continuous professional development. I regularly attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in dyslexia education and the Orton-Gillingham Approach. This dedication ensures that I provide the highest quality instruction to my students.
